Changelog

v3.1.4 Latest

Highlights

  • Sensor reactive lighting. A new Sensor reactive category on the Lighting page's Animation tab has effects driven by your PC's own readings: Load bar follows CPU load, Liquid fill and Segment meter follow memory use, and Color shift and Rising heat follow CPU temperature. Pick a different reading for any of them under Sensor in the effect's settings, and their colors come from the color wheel, with a Reverse colors switch.
  • Lighting uses less CPU on Windows. Lighting effects now render through Direct3D 11, so on a PC with Intel integrated graphics they no longer keep a CPU core busy in the background. Switching effects is smoother too: the current effect keeps playing while the next one loads.
  • Music Reactive can listen to a microphone. On Windows, Music Reactive lighting can follow a microphone or any other input instead of what your PC plays. Pick it under Music Reactive source in Settings > Lighting & Cooling, or from the picker beside the music button on the Lighting page.
  • You choose which competing apps Nexus terminates. When apps that drive the same lighting, fans or peripherals are running, during setup or from the Conflicting apps detected alert, each app is a card you click to choose whether Nexus terminates it or it keeps running. Each card shows the devices it competes for and what will happen to it, an app that starts with Windows can be removed from startup, and nothing changes until you press Terminate or Keep all running.

Lighting

  • Game Sync has been removed due to compatibility issues, and we may bring it back in an improved form in the future. If your lighting was on Game Sync, it switches to Static. On Windows, the Game Sync tab stays visible but disabled with this note, and Remove tab takes it away.
  • Picking an effect, a mode tab or a color in Advanced mode while lighting is Off turns it back on for all your devices.
  • Simple mode no longer takes back devices you turned Nexus Control off for, and neither does choosing Off or finishing lighting setup. A Control all devices button at the top right of the Lighting page brings every device back when you want it.
  • Customize device has a new Frame cap that limits how often that device's lighting updates (Off, or 30, 20, 15, 10, 5 or 1 Hz), for a device or PC that stutters during animated effects. It is off by default, and your choice stays with the device when you switch presets.
  • Render GPU in Settings > Lighting & Cooling is now called Rendering device. On Windows it can also pick your CPU ("software rendering"), which frees up the GPU in exchange for higher CPU load.
  • On a PC with Intel integrated graphics and a dedicated graphics card, Auto no longer moves lighting to the dedicated card, since rendering on the integrated GPU no longer costs a CPU core.
  • Screen Mirror lighting updates at 30 fps, the same rate as every other effect.
  • On Windows, opening the Mirror tab while another mode is running shows a live preview of the selected monitor, and effect previews on the Lighting page load faster after your first visit.
  • In Effect Studio, a knob can now move with a sensor as well as with music or a wave. Starters opens a picker with thumbnails grouped by category, and settings that are either on or off, such as Flip, are switches.
  • On a new install, every device starts out covering the whole lighting canvas, so each one shows the full effect. Existing layouts are not changed.
  • Hovering a mode tab on the Lighting page says what it does, such as "Animated effects, or build your own in Effect Studio" for Animation.
  • Pins explain themselves. The first time you pin a device on the Lighting page, a hint at its pin says to keep it selected to change its lighting, and to unpin it to go back to the lighting for all devices. Hovering a pin says that modes only change that device while it is selected, and Pin and Unpin in a card's right-click menu describe what each does.
  • On a new install, these mice start with Nexus Control off, because lighting control stops their buttons or DPI from working: Corsair Katar Pro, Katar Pro V2 and Katar Pro XT, Corsair M55 RGB PRO, Corsair M65 RGB Ultra Wired, Corsair Scimitar PRO RGB and HyperX Pulsefire Haste. Turn a mouse's card on to light it anyway. Existing installs keep them as they were.
  • Newly supported: MSI MEG X870E GODLIKE MAX and MSI MEG Z790 GODLIKE, including the Z790's MEG logo and the lights below the riser card and along the bottom edge. Thanks @GrPK!

Cooling

  • Hovering a mode tab on the Cooling page says what it does, from Silent ("Slow, quiet fans") to Max ("Every fan at 100%, always").
  • A pinned fan shows a pin you can click to unpin it, and hovering it says why it is pinned: a fan you pinned keeps its own speed when you switch modes, while GPU fans, pumps and AIO coolers start pinned because modes follow CPU temperature, pump speed stays as set, and the cooler runs its own curve. Pin and Unpin in a fan's menu describe what each does.

Monitoring

  • A new Read RAM temperatures switch in Settings > Monitoring & Diagnostics turns off reading the temperature sensor on each memory stick. It is on by default; turn it off if your PC fails to restart after installing Nexus.

Devices

  • A device with Nexus Control off can be hidden from the sidebar: right-click its row and choose Hide from sidebar. Its device page has a Show in sidebar switch to bring it back.

Windows

  • Settings > General has a Fast Startup switch. Fast Startup starts Windows faster after Shut down, but USB devices are not fully reset, so turn it off if a device stops responding or is not detected after startup.

Accounts and privacy

  • Benchmark results are no longer uploaded to the public leaderboard on their own. After a run, the results ask "Share this result on the public leaderboard?", and nothing is uploaded unless you choose Publish.
  • Signing in to an account whose email you have not verified offers Resend email, with a short wait between sends.

Fixes

  • Some PCs could fail to restart after installing Nexus, because the memory's temperature sensor was left in a state the PC did not expect. Nexus now puts it back when it shuts down.
  • On Windows, the window shown while an update installs could stay on screen after the update had finished.
  • Windows Defender could flag the window Nexus shows while it installs an update.
  • A monitor turned into a panel could lose its layout when Windows gave it a new display id, for example after moving it to another port or reinstalling the graphics driver.
  • Lighting and Cooling on a touch panel could drop back to a single selected device after a restart or a device rescan.
  • On a touch panel, a palm resting on the static color grid could take the pick from your fingertip.
  • On a zoomed touch panel, picking a static color could select a different color from the one under your finger.
  • When editing a widget on a panel, its settings sheet could cover the widget or sit stranded at the bottom of the screen.

v3.1.4-beta.3 Prerelease

  • Benchmark results stay private until you publish them. Results are no longer uploaded to the public leaderboard on their own. After a run, the results ask "Share this result on the public leaderboard?", and nothing is uploaded unless you choose Publish.

Lighting

  • In Effect Studio, a knob can now move with a sensor as well as with music or a wave. Starters opens a picker with thumbnails grouped by category, and settings that are either on or off, such as Flip, are switches.
  • On a new install, every device starts out covering the whole lighting canvas, so each one shows the full effect. Existing layouts are not changed.
  • Hovering a mode tab on the Lighting page says what it does, such as "Animated effects, or build your own in Effect Studio" for Animation.
  • Hovering a pin says that modes only change that device while it is selected, and Pin and Unpin in a card's right-click menu describe what each does.

Fixes

  • Some PCs could fail to restart after installing Nexus, because the memory's temperature sensor was left in a state the PC did not expect. Nexus now puts it back when it shuts down.
  • On Windows, the window shown while an update installs could stay on screen after the update had finished.

v3.1.4-beta.2 Prerelease

Highlights

  • Lighting comes back on from Advanced mode. Picking an effect, a mode tab or a color while lighting is Off turns it back on for all your devices. Simple mode no longer takes back devices you turned Nexus Control off for, and a new Control all devices button at the top right of the Lighting page brings every device back when you want it.
  • Lighting uses less CPU on Windows. Lighting effects now render through Direct3D 11, so on a PC with Intel integrated graphics they no longer keep a CPU core busy in the background. Switching effects is smoother too: the current effect keeps playing while the next one loads.
  • Fan and pump control for the Lian Li HydroShift LCD 360R. Its fans and pump show up on the Cooling page with live RPM and speed control, and the three fan rings light up per LED on the Lighting page.
  • A Frame cap for each device. Customize device has a new Frame cap that limits how often that device's lighting updates (Off, or 30, 20, 15, 10, 5 or 1 Hz), for a device or PC that stutters during animated effects.

Lighting

  • Game Sync has been removed due to compatibility issues, and we may bring it back in an improved form in the future. If your lighting was on Game Sync, it switches to Static. On Windows, after upgrading you see the Game Sync tab disabled with this note, and Remove tab takes it away.
  • Choosing Off in Simple mode or finishing lighting setup also leaves devices with Nexus Control off alone.
  • Frame cap is off by default, and your choice stays with the device when you switch presets.
  • Screen Mirror lighting updates at 30 fps, the same rate as every other effect.
  • On a PC with Intel integrated graphics and a dedicated graphics card, Auto no longer switches lighting to the dedicated card.
  • Render GPU in Settings > Lighting & Cooling is now called Rendering device. On Windows it can also pick your CPU ("software rendering"), which frees up the GPU in exchange for higher CPU load.
  • On Windows, opening the Mirror tab while another mode is running shows a live preview of the selected monitor.

Lian Li

  • When Nexus stops controlling the HydroShift LCD 360R, its pump goes back to motherboard control.

Windows

  • Effect previews on the Lighting page load faster after your first visit.

Also in this release

  • Signing in to an account whose email you have not verified offers Resend email, with a short wait between sends.

Fixes

  • The display on a Lian Li HydroShift LCD with older firmware could stay blank.
  • Windows Defender could flag the window Nexus shows while it installs an update.
  • When editing a widget on a panel, its settings sheet could cover the widget or sit stranded at the bottom of the screen.

v3.1.4-beta.1 Prerelease

Highlights

  • Web View widget. Show any website live on your Y70 or a touch display turned into a panel on your Windows PC. Tap the tile to open the site fullscreen and use it with your fingers, with Back, Reload and Close at hand. Each widget has its own Zoom (0.25x to 3x) and Auto-refresh (every 1, 5, 15, 30 or 60 minutes), and you set the address from the panel editor on your PC. Import from Nexus 2 brings your iFrame widgets over as Web View widgets.
  • Decks that are ready to use. New Deck widgets start with an Essentials set of keys (volume down, volume up, screenshot, Task manager), and Media and System presets sit next to it. A deck can now be a 4x1 strip along one row, and Launch app takes any path or link you paste.
  • Always on top for the Y70. A new Always on top switch under Show Panel on the Y70's page lets other windows appear over the panel, so a window you drag onto it stays in view (with Keep panel clear of other windows off). It is on by default.
  • Turned-off features leave your hardware alone. With Lighting or Cooling turned off, Nexus no longer takes over your hubs and coolers, and on a new install nothing is taken over until you finish the How much control do you want? step.

Panels

  • The Y70's Keep the mouse off the panel switch now sits right under Keep panel clear of other windows.
  • The Immersive background option shows only on touch screens, where immersive views exist.
  • Lighting and Cooling on a touch panel remember which devices you selected, per panel, across restarts.

Deck

  • New Deck widgets get the Essentials keys, and Media (previous, play/pause, next, mute) and System (lock, sleep, screen recording, Settings) presets are added next to it, on existing installs too. Your existing decks are not changed. The presets show in your language until you rename them.
  • Deck widgets can now use Screenshot and Screen recording keys, which used to be offered only on physical decks such as Stream Deck, plus a new Task manager key. On Windows, Screenshot and Screen recording open the Snipping Tool overlay, and Screen recording has a camcorder icon.
  • The Deck widget has a 4x1 size that snaps to single rows.
  • Launch app accepts a typed drive path or an http, https or steam:// link, with a Browse button beside the search box and a hint under it when the app is not in the list.

Nexus 2 import

  • The Y70 dock comes over as a 4x1 deck along the bottom of your first panel page, in a preset named Nexus 2 dock: app shortcuts launch the app, files and folders open, websites open their address, one-key recordings become hotkeys, and sound clips play. Importing again updates that preset instead of adding a second deck.
  • iFrame widgets become 4x4 Web View widgets showing the same site at the same zoom. A widget with no usable address, or with no room on its page, is skipped with a note.
  • The first import turns off Always on top and Keep panel clear of other windows on the Y70, so the panel behaves as it did in Nexus 2. Importing again keeps your choices.

Widgets

  • Weather (4x4): each day's range bar is colored by temperature, with a dot marking today's current temperature. Turn on Accent color bars for bars in your accent color instead.
  • Volume mixer: drag devices into the order you want under Output order and Input order in the widget settings, and Nexus remembers it. New Show labels and Show output menu switches, and Hide idle apps becomes Show idle apps.

Settings

  • Settings for a feature you have turned off (Lighting, Monitoring events, the thermal guard, drive polling) are replaced by a single note saying which switch to turn on, and search lands on that note. The four feature switches carry a Master switch label.
  • With Cooling off, onboarding no longer offers to import fan curves from FanControl or Nexus 2.
  • The competing-app alert counts an app only when it competes for a feature you have turned on, and for a screen only while Nexus is driving that screen.
  • Drive health (SMART) reads stop while Monitoring and Diagnostics are both off and no fan curve follows a drive.

Lighting

  • On a PC with an Intel integrated GPU and a dedicated graphics card, the Auto render GPU now uses the dedicated card. Rendering on the Intel GPU kept about one CPU core busy in the background.
  • Kingston Fury memory updates its lighting faster.
  • Newly supported: Corsair K70 RGB PRO Optical, Corsair M75 Wireless on its Slipstream receiver, Corsair Scimitar Elite RGB, Roccat Vulcan II Mini, SteelSeries Rival 3 Wireless, NZXT F280 RGB Core, Razer mice on the Mouse Dock Pro, and the Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER Eagle OC ICE, RTX 4070 Ti SUPER AORUS MASTER, RTX 5060 Ti Aero OC 16G, Radeon RX 9060 XT GAMING ICE, RX 9070 GRE GAMING OC and RX 6750 XT GAMING OC 12G, MSI GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16G and RTX 5060 8G GAMING TRIO OC, ASRock Radeon RX 7900 XTX Taichi 24GB OC and Colorful iGame RTX 5080 Ultra W OC.

Lian Li

  • Lian Li wireless fans and HydroShift II rings stay smooth when devices are pinned.
  • A wireless fan chain that turns up paired to any other dongle pairs back to yours on its own, unless you unbound it yourself.

Windows

  • When antivirus blocks Setup, its dialog now has a Learn more button that opens the antivirus help page.

macOS

  • Launch app keys accept any app or file path on a Mac, and Browse picks one.

Fixes

  • Screen Mirror lighting could stay dark when Nexus started with Windows, or after its helper restarted.
  • The Lighting page forgot which devices you had selected.
  • The static color grid could pick the swatch in the row next to the one you clicked or tapped, and a second finger or palm could steer the pick.
  • Lighting could freeze on a Corsair Lighting Node or Hydro Platinum cooler that stopped answering.
  • The same memory module could be detected twice.

v3.1.3

Highlights

  • Effect Studio. Build your own animated lighting effect by stacking blocks such as wipes, scanners, chases, flames, spectrum bars, VU meters and beat rings, or start from a starter or Surprise me. Any knob can move with the music or with a wave at a set rate, and Show on all devices plays the effect on your hardware while you edit. Saved effects run like the built-in ones. Open it with the Effect Studio button beside the effect search on the Lighting page's Animation tab.
  • A different look on every device. Each device can now run its own lighting: different animations on different devices, or a mix of static colors, animations, media and screen mirroring, each assigned on its own. On the Lighting page, select the cards and pick what they should show; every other device keeps its look.
  • Control center on touch panels. Swipe down from the top edge of a Y70 or a touch monitor panel for brightness, volume with per-app volumes, mic, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Airplane mode, dark mode, media controls, Lock PC, Sleep PC and Screen sleep.

Lighting

  • A search box above the effects finds any effect by name, and your Effect Studio effects lead the list under Custom.
  • The new Clock fill effect sweeps around like a clock hand, with one to six hands, and Dot Matrix becomes an LED scoreboard with comets racing along its rows.
  • Hovering a mode tab, a color or an effect outlines the cards your pick will change, the chip above the effects says what it applies to ("Applies to 2 selected"), and the cards that change pulse once.
  • In Simple mode, devices with their own look bring up Control all, which puts every device back on one look.
  • Each LED takes its color from a small spot right under it, and the strips on Lighting page cards show the colors your LEDs are really showing.
  • The Lighting page remembers which devices you selected, and Lighting and Cooling on a touch panel remember theirs per panel, across restarts.
  • On a PC with an Intel integrated GPU and a dedicated graphics card, the Auto render GPU now uses the dedicated card. Rendering on the Intel GPU kept about one CPU core busy in the background.
  • Kingston Fury memory updates its lighting faster.
  • Newly supported: Corsair K70 RGB PRO Optical, Corsair M75 Wireless on its Slipstream receiver, Corsair Scimitar Elite RGB, Roccat Vulcan II Mini, SteelSeries Rival 3 Wireless, NZXT F280 RGB Core, Razer mice on the Mouse Dock Pro, and the Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER Eagle OC ICE, RTX 4070 Ti SUPER AORUS MASTER, RTX 5060 Ti Aero OC 16G, Radeon RX 9060 XT GAMING ICE, RX 9070 GRE GAMING OC and RX 6750 XT GAMING OC 12G, MSI GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16G and RTX 5060 8G GAMING TRIO OC, ASRock Radeon RX 7900 XTX Taichi 24GB OC and Colorful iGame RTX 5080 Ultra W OC.

Cooling

  • Import from Nexus 2 (Settings > Privacy & Data) now brings over your fan curves. They apply only to the fans listed, and every other fan keeps its settings. Curves for Q-series and NP50 coolers are skipped for now and show "Not supported yet for this device".
  • If Nexus 2 ran in Recommended mode, the import switches Nexus 3 to the matching Silent, Balanced or Turbo preset. If you have already set up cooling in Nexus 3, your setup is kept.
  • Importing from FanControl (Import... in the preset menu) changes only the fans it brings over and leaves your preset and every other fan as they were.
  • The first time you open advanced cooling, a one-time hint points at Calibrate, so your curves match each fan's real speed.
  • Fans pin instead of lock, and hovering a preset tab outlines the fans that preset would change.

Panels

  • On the Y70's page, a new Always on top switch under Show Panel lets other windows appear over the panel, so a window you drag onto it stays in view (with Keep panel clear of other windows off). It is on by default, and Keep the mouse off the panel now sits right under Keep panel clear of other windows.
  • On Windows, the 2023 NZXT Kraken Elite and the Kraken Z3 (Z53, Z63, Z73) show a Nexus panel on their screen once Nexus Control is on. The Z3 can instead play a GIF from a file or Klipy.
  • The Immersive background option shows only on touch screens, where immersive views exist.

Deck

  • New Deck widgets start with an Essentials set of keys (volume down, volume up, screenshot, Task manager), and Media (previous, play/pause, next, mute) and System (lock, sleep, screen recording, Settings) presets are added next to it, on existing installs too. Your existing decks are not changed. The presets show in your language until you rename them.
  • Deck widgets can now use Screenshot and Screen recording keys, which used to be offered only on physical decks such as Stream Deck, plus a new Task manager key. On Windows, Screenshot and Screen recording open the Snipping Tool overlay.

Devices

  • Asiahorse Umbra V2 support. Each port with LEDs becomes a zone on the Lighting page, or the hub plays its own Sync, Async or Merge effects or follows the motherboard ARGB input. Fans follow the motherboard PWM header or Nexus, and Auto Detect LEDs counts the LEDs on every port. When Nexus lets go, the hub returns to its own effect. Nexus Control is on by default, and the hub's own app counts as a competing app.
  • Device rows show when an update is ready: an Update available chip on the Devices page and a glyph in the sidebar, both leading to Firmware Updates. Device warnings become chips with the full message on hover, and a device with Nexus Control off shows neither in the sidebar.
  • A device with no icon of its own shows its brand's logo or a generic icon.

Settings

  • With Lighting or Cooling turned off, Nexus no longer takes over your hubs and coolers, and on a new install nothing is taken over until you finish the How much control do you want? step.
  • The conflict alert in the top bar shows only when a running app competes for a device Nexus is controlling, and only for a feature you have turned on.
  • Drive health (SMART) reads stop while Monitoring and Diagnostics are both off and no fan curve follows a drive.

Benchmark

  • Remove your own run from the leaderboard, from Results or from its leaderboard page. Places past the top 100 show a Top 5% to Top 50% bracket instead of a rank.

Windows

  • When antivirus blocks Setup, its dialog now has a Learn more button that opens the antivirus help page.

macOS

  • With the Nexus app open, the background agent no longer restarts every few seconds.
  • Launch app keys accept any app or file path on a Mac, and Browse picks one.

Phone apps

  • In the iOS and Android apps, the panel tray's last tile reads Settings, which is what it opens.

Fixes

  • On some AMD Radeon graphics cards, Nexus restarted every few seconds and lighting and fan control dropped out.
  • ARGB lighting could stay on after the PC shut down.
  • After the PC woke from sleep, every fan could drop to hardware control.
  • In-game overlay settings could stop applying after a window was dragged or a dialog was open.
  • Screen Mirror lighting could stay dark when Nexus started with Windows, or after its helper restarted.
  • Whenever Nexus connected to its helper, Stream Deck keys sat on placeholder icons and the volume mixer, Deck widgets and Y70 orientation froze for several seconds per app icon.
  • Per-app volume, media controls, Deck icons and Stream Deck widgets could stop working after Nexus reconnected to its helper.
  • A detected cooler screen with Nexus Control off had no sidebar row, so there was no way to turn it on.
  • A Q-series panel that came up late waited three minutes before Nexus restarted it; it now takes about 30 seconds. Repair connection pressed during that restart now runs, and a panel asleep while the PC was locked no longer restarts after the PC wakes.
  • The SmartHub page stayed on not connected after turning Nexus Control on, until you left the page.
  • Changes on the NP50's page could fail while Nexus was polling the cooler.
  • After turning lighting off and on, the Lighting widget could count only some of your devices as lit.
  • The static color grid could pick the swatch in the row next to the one you clicked or tapped, and a second finger or palm could steer the pick.
  • A value typed into a lighting slider could leave the LEDs on the old value.
  • Effect tiles, often the running effect's, could show a broken image until clicked.
  • Lighting could freeze on a Corsair Lighting Node or Hydro Platinum cooler that stopped answering.
  • The same memory module could be detected twice.
  • Weather tiles could show No connection for up to 15 minutes after a restart.
  • After an update, a page left open could fail to load; it now reloads once on its own.
  • In the Android app, switching between PCs reset both PCs' panel dashboards.
  • Nexus could crash when another program held one of its profile files open.
  • Panel background files over the size limit are skipped with a message, and picking only unsupported files says so instead of doing nothing.
  • A Monitoring chart could crash on an event type it didn't recognize.

v3.1.2-beta.1 Prerelease

On the Lighting page, select the cards and pick what they should show; every other device keeps its look.

  • Devices whose lighting is set on their own page stay on the Lighting page as Hardware control cards with Open device page, such as Strimer and wired Lian Li hubs on motherboard ARGB sync. The Lian Li HydroShift II ring, Galahad II and Strimer show Hardware control while their own effect plays, and Take control brings them back.
  • Each LED takes its color from a small spot right under it, and the strips on Lighting page cards show the colors your LEDs are really showing.
  • In Simple mode, devices with their own look bring up Control all, which puts every device back on one look.

Nexus Control is on by default, and the AsiaHorse UMBRA app counts as a competing app.
  • On Windows, the 2023 NZXT Kraken Elite and the Kraken Z3 (Z53, Z63, Z73) show a Nexus panel on their screen once Nexus Control is on. The Z3 can instead play a GIF from a file or Klipy.
  • Device rows show when an update is ready: an Update available chip on the Devices page and a glyph in the sidebar, both leading to Firmware Updates. Device warnings become chips with the full message on hover, and a device with Nexus Control off shows neither in the sidebar.
  • The conflict alert in the top bar shows only when a running app competes for a device Nexus is controlling.
  • A device with no icon of its own shows its brand's logo or a generic icon.

Lian Li

  • When the wireless dongle stops taking commands while still listing your fans, Nexus resets it on its own, right from startup, instead of leaving lighting and fan control dead until you replug it.
  • A wireless fan chain whose pairing comes back garbled pairs back to your dongle on its own, without pressing Bind.
  • SL-LCD screens switch to a new pick right away, and a Nexus panel on them runs at 25 fps.

macOS

  • The Lian Li Universal Screen 8.8 shows its Nexus panel on a Mac once Nexus Control is on. This needs the Screen Recording permission.
  • With the Nexus app open, the background agent no longer restarts every few seconds.

Also in this release

  • Benchmark: remove your own run from the leaderboard, from Results or from its leaderboard page. Places past the top 100 show a Top 5% to Top 50% bracket instead of a rank.

  • In-game overlay settings could stop applying after a window was dragged or a dialog was open.
  • After the PC woke from sleep, every fan could drop to hardware control.
  • A Lian Li HydroShift II OLED Curved screen stayed on its own pump screen after sleep until Nexus Control was turned off and on.
  • An SL-LCD fan screen that was unplugged and plugged back in stayed on its boot logo.
  • A detected cooler screen with Nexus Control off had no sidebar row, so there was no way to turn it on.
  • After turning lighting off and on, the Lighting widget could count only some of your devices as lit.
  • Weather tiles could show No connection for up to 15 minutes after a restart.
  • Effect tiles, often the running effect's, could show a broken image until clicked.
  • A value typed into a lighting slider could leave the LEDs on the old value.
  • After an update, a page left open could fail to load; it now reloads once on its own.
  • In the Android app, switching between PCs reset both PCs' panel dashboards.
  • The SmartHub page stayed on not connected after turning Nexus Control on, until you left the page.
  • Changes on the NP50's page could fail while Nexus was polling the cooler.
  • A Q-series panel that came up late waited three minutes before Nexus restarted it; it now takes about 30 seconds. Repair connection pressed during that restart now runs, and a panel asleep while the PC was locked no longer restarts after the PC wakes.
  • Nexus could crash when another program held one of its profile files open.
  • Panel background files over the size limit are skipped with a message, and picking only unsupported files says so instead of doing nothing.
  • A Monitoring chart could crash on an event type it didn't recognize.

v3.1.1-beta.1 Prerelease

Highlights

  • Production and Beta channels. Nexus now has a Production channel next to Beta. Change it under Settings > General > Update channel: Nexus shows the version it will install, then downloads and installs it right away, in either direction. Beta keeps getting new features and experimental device support first, and a beta install only ever updates to newer betas.
  • Screens sleep while your PC is locked. NZXT Kraken, Tryx Panorama, Corsair iCUE LINK LCD, Lian Li SL-LCD fan and HydroShift II screens, and the screens Nexus draws on the PC, now turn off when you lock your PC and fade back in when you unlock it. Each has a Turn off display when PC is locked switch on its page, on by default.
  • Dim lights when idle. Settings > Lighting & Cooling > Brightness schedule has a new Dim lights when idle option: pick how far to dim and whether it starts after a set time or when your screen turns off. It works whether or not the schedule is on.
  • Corsair iCUE LINK TITAN RX LCD. The TITAN RX LCD's round screen becomes a Nexus panel, its cap and pump rings play your Lighting page effects, and When Nexus is closed on its page stores an image or GIF on the cooler to show while Nexus is not running.

Panels

  • A monitor turned into a panel from Devices > Displays now gets a grid sized from the monitor's real size, about one row per inch: a 24" monitor gets 12 rows, a 32" 4K monitor 16. Monitors turned into panels before this release move to the new grid, so their widgets may need rearranging.
  • A plain monitor panel gets the Widget scale setting: Large shows half as many rows as Small, so widgets stay twice the size.
  • The ASUS ROG Ryujin III's screen shows a Nexus panel, fitted to its landscape glass, and the ASUS logo marks it in the sidebar.

Cooling

  • The small fan on the Tryx Panorama's pump head joins the Cooling page as VRM Fan, and the motherboard header the pump runs on is labeled as the pump. When Nexus lets go, the fan returns to the cooler's own setting. Thanks @GrPK!

Lian Li

  • Wireless fans and the HydroShift that lose their pairing with your dongle pair back on their own, as L-Connect does.
  • When the wireless dongle stops answering, Nexus resets it in place and keeps the link up, so lighting and fan control no longer drop out while it recovers, and the device list no longer empties.

Corsair

  • iCUE LINK devices carry iCUE's names, such as iCUE LINK LCD Cap and iCUE LINK TITAN 240, and a cooler's screen is named after its cooler.
  • When Nexus stops, an iCUE LINK LCD shows your When Nexus is closed choice instead of freezing on the last frame, and a restarted Nexus draws on it again right away.

Lighting

  • The MSI MEG X870E GODLIKE's Dragon, MEG, Enthusiast and GODLIKE logos light up with your effects. Thanks @GrPK!
  • The MSI MPG X870E Edge Ti's IO shield joins the Lighting page.
  • The AORUS GeForce RTX 5080 MASTER ICE lights its three fans, backplate and side logo as separate zones.

Widgets

  • The Media widget's settings have a Shown app option that keeps one app on screen, playing or paused, and its volume slider follows that app.

Stream Deck

  • A Stream Deck or Corsair Galleon K100 SD that Nexus has never controlled shows on the Devices page with its Nexus Control switch, so you can turn it on.

Windows

  • On Windows 10, the screens Nexus draws on the PC now show the panel instead of staying blank.

Linux

  • On KDE Plasma with Brave or Chrome installed from Flathub, the Y70 shows the same layout as its editor, and changes made on the panel survive a reboot.

Fixes

  • Changing a fan speed or curve while a cooling preset was loaded could freeze Nexus until it was restarted.
  • The Mirror lighting effect no longer freezes on its last frame after a fullscreen game starts or the display mode changes.
  • Monitor brightness changes made after a pause are no longer dropped, and a short brightness drag on a Y70 Touch no longer leaves brightness unresponsive until Nexus restarts.
  • App icons on Deck widgets that stayed blank after a restart now load as soon as Windows is ready.
  • The LED dots on the Lighting page go back to their resting look; the live colors trailed moving effects.

v3.1.0

Nexus 3.1.0 is the first release on the Production channel.

Production and Beta

  • Production gets releases that have been through a beta first. Beta gets new features and experimental device support first, and may be less stable.
  • Change channel under Settings > General > Update channel. Nexus shows the version it will install, then downloads and installs it right away, in either direction. After that, each install updates only within its channel.
  • Lian Li and Corsair devices are marked Experimental, and Nexus Control for them is available on Beta only. On Production their page says so and offers Switch to Beta.

Highlights

  • Screens sleep while your PC is locked. NZXT Kraken and Tryx Panorama screens now turn off when you lock your PC and fade back in when you unlock it.
  • Monitor panels sized to the monitor. A monitor turned into a panel from Devices > Displays now gets a grid sized from the monitor's real size, about one row per inch: a 24" monitor gets 12 rows, a 32" 4K monitor 16. Its Widget scale setting switches to Large for half as many rows and twice the widget size. Monitors turned into panels before this release move to the new grid, so their widgets may need rearranging.

Panels

  • The ASUS ROG Ryujin III's screen shows a Nexus panel, fitted to its landscape glass, and the ASUS logo marks it in the sidebar.

Cooling

  • The small fan on the Tryx Panorama's pump head joins the Cooling page as VRM Fan, and the motherboard header the pump runs on is labeled as the pump. When Nexus lets go, the fan returns to the cooler's own setting. Thanks @GrPK!

  • App icons on Deck widgets that stayed blank after a restart now load as soon as Windows is ready.

v3.0.25-beta.2 Prerelease

Highlights

  • Lian Li HydroShift II OLED Curved. Its curved OLED becomes a Nexus panel you can fill with widgets, the pump and coolant temperature join the Cooling page, and the 35 edge LEDs play your Lighting page effects. The panel's Settings tab also tilts and raises the screen.
  • Stream Deck dials and touch screens. The Elgato Stream Deck +, Stream Deck + XL, Stream Deck Studio and Corsair Galleon K100 SD now work with Nexus, dials and screens included, and the Stream Deck Neo gets its info screen and touch keys. Set each dial to volume, app volume, microphone volume, brightness, a Monitoring readout or page turning, or give it your own actions for turns, presses and touches.
  • Radeon fan control. Nexus now drives the fans of AMD Radeon RX 5000 series and newer graphics cards on Windows, which ignored your curves before. When Nexus lets go of the fan, it puts back the card's own fan curve and Zero RPM setting.
  • Lian Li Universal Screen 8.8. The 8.8" screen works as a full Nexus widget panel, in landscape or standing on its short side with Portrait mount under Mounting on its Settings tab, and its 60-LED frame is laid out around the screen on the Lighting page.
  • Widget scale. More screen real estate: the HYTE Q60 and Q80, the Corsair iCUE LINK 5" LCD, the HydroShift II OLED Curved and the Lian Li Universal Screen 8.8 get a Widget scale setting on their Widgets tab. Large shows fewer, bigger widgets and Small fits more on a denser grid. On a Q-series cooler, Small turns the one-widget screen into a grid of widgets, and Nexus lists any widgets that will not fit before it changes the grid.
  • Font choices for panels. Pick a font for each panel under Theme > Text > Font on its page in Nexus: Lexend, Oswald, Tektur, Jura or Piazzolla. Every widget on that panel draws in it.

Lian Li

  • The HydroShift II OLED Curved can play a video you upload instead of the Nexus panel, and a Screen saver plays a video every few minutes to protect the OLED from burn-in. Pump follows motherboard lets the pump follow its motherboard header when Nexus is not controlling it, and when Nexus lets go the cooler returns to its own screen.
  • The HydroShift II LCD-C now works over USB like the LCD-S: its round screen becomes a Nexus panel, its pump, fans and coolant temperature join the Cooling page, and its pump ring plays your Lighting page effects.
  • The Galahad II LCD's pump and coolant temperature join the Cooling page, with the pump's full speed range that the motherboard pump header could not reach. Its pump-head ring lights up as a single-color zone on the Lighting page instead of staying dark.

Corsair

  • Nexus works with several iCUE LINK System Hubs at once. When a hub starts without its devices, or a device you plug in stays dark, Nexus re-detects the hub's devices on its own, and a Re-detect devices button on the hub's page does it by hand. The iCUE LINK RX360 II RGB shows by name with its lighting, and QX RGB fans draw as rings on the Lighting page.
  • The iCUE LINK TITAN II pump and the iCUE LINK 5" LCD module show by name on an iCUE LINK System Hub, with their lighting, speed and temperature. The 5" LCD's screen becomes a Nexus panel, marked Experimental and named Corsair TITAN II LCD when it sits on a TITAN II.
  • Nexus pauses an iCUE LINK System Hub whenever iCUE is running, stops writing the moment another program talks to the hub, and waits for a quiet minute before taking it back. Writing alongside iCUE could break iCUE's saved profile on the hub and leave its fans dark.

Stream Deck

  • On a deck with dials, a Keys and Dials switch above the action list on the Customize tab shows the dial actions, and the preview takes the shape of your deck. A dial can stack several actions that a press cycles through, and holding an empty dial, or long-touching an empty spot on the touch strip, opens it for editing in Nexus.
  • The Stream Deck Neo's info screen shows the clock or the page number, set with Info Screen on the Settings tab, and its touch keys turn pages.
  • Presets live in the preset menu at the top of the device page, next to Recent Apps. Trigger with apps... switches a deck to a preset while one of its apps is in focus, replacing the App Aware mode, and the per-app starter presets open from Import starter presets... in the same menu.
  • Importing an Elgato profile brings its dial actions along, and an Open action with a Windows command such as calc now launches it. Keys can also take a Screenshot or Screen recording action, which opens your system's capture tool.

Panels

  • The rendering engine that draws cooler screens, panels and Stream Deck keys got a little faster.
  • Big screens Nexus draws on the PC, such as the HydroShift II OLED Curved and the Universal Screen 8.8, render at a lower resolution by default to use less CPU while keeping small text readable. Set Render mode to High resolution under Rendering on the panel's Settings tab for full detail.
  • On a panel without touch, such as the Universal Screen 8.8, you can now drag, resize and remove widgets in the preview on its page in Nexus, as on a touch panel.
  • Cooler screens Nexus draws on the PC start on a solid background instead of an animated one, which saves CPU, unless you picked a background yourself. HYTE Q-series coolers keep their animated default.
  • Page dots on touch panels are larger and stay at the bottom of the screen in landscape.
  • The Diagnostics widget is offered only on touch panels and the dashboard, since it works by tapping.

Cooling

  • While AMD Software's automatic GPU tuning is on, the Radeon fan's card on the Cooling page shows a warning triangle explaining how to set GPU tuning to Custom, and the fan follows Nexus again once you do.
  • When Nexus hands your fans to the BIOS because fan control kept stalling, it now takes them back after 5 minutes without a stall. If it happens a second time, the fans stay with the BIOS until you restart Nexus or switch CPU thermal guard off and on in Settings > Lighting & Cooling.
  • A USB cooler that stops answering, such as a HydroShift II, no longer holds up control of your other fans or trips the thermal guard. It shows as disconnected until it answers again, then picks its curves back up.

Lighting

  • The LED dots of a selected device on the Lighting page show the live colors of the running effect, as in the 3D view.
  • Sony DualShock 4, DualSense and DualSense Edge controllers and the GameSir Nova 2 Lite are no longer taken over for lighting, which could take the controller away from games and Steam Input. They show as switched-off cards on the Lighting page; switch one on to light it.
  • A search button on the device list of the Lighting page and the fan list of the Cooling page filters the list by name, hub or group.

Widgets

  • A 2x2 Monitoring widget, square or round, can show two sensors, 2 side by side or 2 stacked, picked in its settings. The small readings of the 1 large + 2 small layout offer more designs.
  • AIO pump speeds appear in the Cooler category of widget sensor pickers next to the coolant temperature, so a cooler screen can show both.

Updates

  • With Update channel set to Beta in Settings > General, Nexus updates only to newer betas, so a beta install is never moved onto a stable release by an update.

Windows

  • Apps, files, folders and links opened from a deck key come to the front instead of opening behind the window you are in, Task Manager included.
  • If antivirus quarantines Nexus during setup, the installer says so, explains how to restore the file and add an exception for the Nexus folder, and lets you try again instead of showing a bare file error.

Linux

  • The installer warns when fontconfig is missing, which Stream Deck keys and LCD screens need to draw, and names the package to install.

Also in this release

  • Turning on Nexus Control for a device marked Experimental now asks you to confirm each time, and the conflicting-apps popup and onboarding mark experimental devices with the Experimental badge.
  • Device names carry their brand on the Devices page, device pages and top bar, such as Elgato Stream Deck + and Corsair Xeneon Edge. The sidebar shows the brand's logo instead and sorts devices by brand, and HYTE devices show the HYTE logo.
  • Nollie controllers are no longer marked Experimental.

Fixes

  • Turning Nexus Control on or off for Memory no longer crashes Nexus.
  • When an NVIDIA driver update restarts Nexus, Diagnostics lists it as a Driver update restart on the GPU timeline instead of an app crash.
  • A song started from search in a browser or the Spotify app now shows its album art without skipping away and back.
  • The Lighting widget no longer counts too few lit devices after Nexus starts.
  • A touch panel opens on its first page after Nexus restarts instead of the last page it showed, and the blank page after the last one now shows on both the panel and its page in Nexus.
  • A widget's menu opened near the right edge of a panel stays next to where you pressed instead of jumping away.
  • On a round cooler screen's page in Nexus, the widget settings preview now matches the size and crop on the screen.
  • On a 4x4 Media widget on a touch panel, a two-line title no longer pushes the album art and seek bar out of place.
  • Importing Elgato profiles no longer stops at ten Stream Deck presets.
  • The pump ring of a wireless HydroShift II LCD-C now starts at the top of the head, so effects line up with it.
  • A cooler screen connected over USB, such as a HydroShift II, comes back as a Nexus panel after it is unplugged and plugged in again.
  • On macOS, a running Elgato Stream Deck app now shows as a conflicting app.

• A USB cooler that stops answering, such as a HydroShift II, no longer holds up control of your other fans or trips the thermal guard. It shows as disconnected until it answers again, then picks its curves back up.

Lighting

  • Sony DualShock 4, DualSense and DualSense Edge controllers and the GameSir Nova 2 Lite are no longer taken over for lighting, which could take the controller away from games and Steam Input. They show as switched-off cards on the Lighting page; switch one on to light it.

v3.0.24-beta.1 Prerelease

Highlights

  • CPU thermal guard. Nexus now watches the CPU temperature against its limit and raises fan speeds as it gets close, whatever your curves say. At the limit, or when the CPU heats up at low load (a sign of lost cooling), every fan runs at 100%, and if fan speed changes stop taking effect Nexus hands the fans back to the BIOS. It is on by default in Settings > Lighting & Cooling, where you can also set the CPU temperature limit when Nexus cannot read it from your CPU.
  • Lian Li HydroShift II LCD-S over USB. Plug in the AIO's USB cable and its screen becomes a Nexus panel you can fill with widgets, the pump, radiator fans and coolant temperature join the Cooling page, and the pump ring plays your Lighting page effects. The ring can also play its own built-in effects, picked from the panel's Settings tab.
  • Dashboard presets. Save your dashboard as a preset, like lighting and cooling presets, then switch between your presets, rename them or delete them from the dashboard's preset bar.
  • Sentry. Lock your PC from the Nexus phone app and get an alert on your phone if anyone touches it while you are away. Turn on alerts from the Sentry card in the phone app's actions tray, and see which phones get alerts in Settings > Privacy & Data. Sentry is available in the Nexus mobile apps from version 3.0.1, coming to the App Store and Google Play.

Cooling

  • Fans that could stop while the CPU is hot show a warning triangle on their card; tap it for the reason. Turn the warnings off in Settings > Lighting & Cooling.
  • After the thermal guard trips, fans whose setup could not protect the CPU move to a shared Thermal guard curve. A notice lists what changed, with Keep and Undo.
  • Diagnostics shows when the thermal guard tripped and how hot the CPU got.

Lian Li

  • Up to four wired Uni Hubs run at once, each with its own device page, lighting and fan channels.
  • On the Uni Hub Lighting tab, a port can play its own animation, the inner and outer rings of SL-Infinity and AL fans can play separate animations, and a merged animation runs through the ports in the order you choose.
  • AL, AL v2 and SL v2 hubs get their own effect lists and default colors, and SL v2 and AL v2 ports take up to six fans.
  • Every Uni Hub, Strimer Plus, TL fan and wireless chain can play its motherboard ARGB header through the sync cable.
  • The device page shows the hub's firmware version, and hubs pick their lighting and fan speeds back up after sleep.
  • Wireless chains of RL120, SL-INF Flex, TL Flex, SL V4, P28 V2 and CL V2 fans are named and lit with the right LED count. Each chain shows its firmware version, and a fan chain that follows the motherboard header says when its PWM cable is missing.
  • A wireless HydroShift II gets screen settings on the Screens tab: brightness, theme, text colors, and one reading or a cycle through several with how long each stays up. Changes show on the screen right away.
  • With its USB cable also plugged in, a Nexus widgets switch on the same tab picks what the HydroShift II screen shows: your Nexus widgets, with Manage panel opening the screen's own page, or the AIO's own theme and readings.
  • A wireless HydroShift II LCD-S pump ring is laid out around its square screen on the Lighting page.

Panels

  • Swipe past the last page of a touch panel onto a blank page to start a new one. On a panel's page in Nexus, the next arrow steps onto that blank page too, and adding a widget there creates the page.
  • A new Keep the mouse off the panel setting on the HYTE Y70 and on monitor panels such as the Corsair Xeneon Edge stops the mouse pointer from moving onto the panel, so you control it by touch only.
  • A panel that appears while Nexus is open, such as a HydroShift II plugged in over USB, shows in the sidebar straight away.

Dashboard

  • The dashboard fits the window: widgets that do not fit move below the rest and return to their place when the window is wide enough. This replaces the Auto-arrange switch.
  • A Marketplace button next to Desktop Widgets opens the Marketplace from the dashboard.

Also in this release

  • When anonymous usage data is on in Settings > Privacy & Data, Nexus also sends error reports so crashes can be fixed faster.
  • Notices across the app share one look in three levels (info, warning and critical), and color pickers line up on the right in every settings list.
  • Supported Devices goes back to search and the device table, with each device's capabilities as chips.
  • The CPU temperature history is named after your CPU model.

Fixes

  • On a HYTE Y70 Touch with several monitors, the mouse pointer no longer gets stuck on the panel after the monitors sleep or when the mouse moves during a touch.
  • Brands with two words, such as Cooler Master, Turtle Beach and Das Keyboard, show their full name in Supported Devices.
  • A wireless Lian Li chain no longer shows up briefly as a phantom device.
  • A panel's page in Nexus opens on the page the panel is showing instead of sliding in from the first one.

v3.0.23-beta.1 Prerelease

Highlights

  • Color by value for every sensor. Power, clocks, fan speed, voltage, throughput and disk space now color by how close they are to their limit, not just temperatures and percentages. Pumps and coolant get their own ranges, NVIDIA GPU power scales to your card's power limit, and disk used/free scale to the drive's size.
  • Type reactive keyboards. Per-key keyboards can light up as you type: every per-key keyboard on Windows, and the HYTE Keeb TKL on every system. Right-click the keyboard on the Lighting page and choose Type reactive to pick from ten effects: Key fade, Ripple, Row sweep, Column sweep, Crosshair, Starburst, Heatmap, Sparks, Lightning and Trace. They play over whatever effect is running, and a live map of the board lets you click a key to try it.
  • Your Home Assistant dashboards in Nexus. The Home Assistant page and widget can show any of your Home Assistant dashboards, with tiles for sensors, scenes, scripts, buttons, covers, fans, locks and helpers. The room view gains search and hides unavailable and Home Assistant-hidden entities.
  • Lian Li Uni Hub synced to an ARGB header. An SL-Infinity hub can hand its fans to a motherboard ARGB header for smooth, full-rate effects: on the hub's Lighting tab, turn on Sync with ARGB header and pick the header its sync cable is plugged into. Each fan on the header is laid out like a fan on the hub's own ports, and turning sync off hands the fans straight back to Nexus.

Monitoring

  • Every sensor type has a sensible ceiling, so gauges stop pegging at full and Fixed ranges start from a useful value.
  • Free, Available and Life readings color in reverse, so a nearly full disk reads hot.
  • Fan sensors named Pump and temperatures named Coolant, Liquid or Water use pump and coolant ranges.

Home Assistant

  • Pick Rooms or any Home Assistant dashboard as the page's source; the dashboard's views become tabs.
  • A Home Assistant widget can show one dashboard, or pin a single view of it.
  • Locks unlock only from the detail dialog.
  • Collapsed rooms are remembered, unassigned entities come last, and tiles are wider.

Lighting

  • Type reactive has four backgrounds: play over your lighting, dim it so reactions stand out, keep the board dark except for reactions, or keep it dark and let each reaction reveal your lighting underneath. A keyboard with Type reactive on shows a badge on its card that opens the editor, and the HYTE Keeb TKL's Passive lighting section uses the same editor.
  • Device menus lead with Customize device and color tuning, followed by the on/off toggles, identify and select, then naming and grouping.
  • Port controllers that start every port at 0 LEDs (Thermaltake Riing, Quad and Trio, Corsair Lighting Node, the original Lian Li Uni Hub and similar) now appear with a card and an LED count editor per port.
  • Lian Li UNIFan SL120 and SL140 Infinity fans picked for an ARGB header, whole or as their inner ring or edge on their own, are laid out like the fans on a Uni Hub port: the inner ring centred on the fan and the edge across it.
  • In the LED map, clicking anywhere on a device row selects it, not just its name.

Cooling

  • Fan curve temperature and speed ranges can be set much narrower, down to 2 degrees on temperature and 3% on speed.

Lian Li

  • The wired and wireless device pages have a button beside their tabs: Set color & brightness on the Lighting tab and Set fan speed & curves on the Cooling tab. It opens the Lighting or Cooling page scrolled to the hub, with the hub highlighted.
  • The Cooling tab on the wired and wireless device pages lists each fan with its RPM and how the Cooling page drives it.
  • The wired Uni Hub page gains a Devices tab for the fan count on each port.
  • Uni Hub ports are numbered from 1 on the Cooling and Lighting pages, matching the device page. Saved names, curves and layouts carry over.
  • Custom effects on the wired SL-Infinity hub play at the rate the hub can show, without stutter or frames jumping back.
  • Wireless fans no longer drop lighting updates when several clusters play busy effects.
  • When the L-Wireless Controller's receiver stops answering, Nexus recovers it in place: Windows no longer disconnects and reconnects the dongle, and your wireless fans stay listed.

Vendor apps

  • A new switch in Manage conflicting applications, Shut down conflicting apps as they open, closes the apps you enabled in the list whenever they start, not only when Nexus starts.
  • If Nexus could not close an app, a notice says so, with End task.
  • The owner switch on a conflict card only shows a selection when the app list and your devices agree.

Nexus 2 import

  • The import brings every HYTE Y70 background and every Q-Series wallpaper you uploaded, not just the one on screen, and a Nexus 2 wallpaper playlist becomes a slideshow with the same interval.
  • The preview lists what each panel group brings over, including how many backgrounds and wallpapers come over and the slideshow interval.
  • Backgrounds come over in the order Nexus 2 showed them, newest first.

Updates

  • The update window no longer sticks on "Starting...".
  • When the update check fails, Nexus says so instead of "You're on the latest version", and still offers an update it already knew about.
  • An install that does not start retries on its own, and Download & install stays available after any failure.

Linux

  • The HYTE Y70 panel opens in Firefox when no Chromium-based browser is installed (as on Bazzite), and lands on the Y70's screen under KDE.

Also in this release

  • Supported Devices opens with a logo for every brand: pick one to see its devices. Search matches every word you type, in any order.
  • Widget previews in the add-widget picker show album art for the media widget and the Rainbow effect for the lighting widget.
  • The install folder includes the license and third-party notices.
  • The HYTE Keeb TKL icon is redrawn.

Fixes

  • Devices you turned on in Nexus stay with Nexus instead of being handed to their vendor app whenever that app's background services start (since 3.0.21-beta.1).
  • The purchases list on the Account page says "Not on this system" for an app that is not installed.

v3.0.22-beta.2 Prerelease

Highlights

  • Build comes to the app. Plan an upgrade or a whole new system from inside Nexus. Build opens on the System Builder and lives under Show more and in search. The case you pick for this system is remembered and kept in step with your account on the website. A game's page in Frames has a Find upgrades button, and a benchmark result has Open in builder.
  • Lock a colour on single LEDs. In a device's LED map, select LEDs and pick a colour for them. They keep it over every effect until you clear them, and the device card, its colour strip and the canvas show which LEDs hold a colour.
  • Breathing with two colours. Breathing now takes turns between two colours, each set on its own wheel as one colour or a hue range to step through. Sharpness replaces Spread and sets how quickly it switches, so a single colour no longer turns into a rainbow across the device. A black second colour gives the classic breath, and new presets add red and blue, greens over deep teal, and blue, purple and pink with white between them.
  • Upgraded OpenRGB. Nexus ships a newer OpenRGB and talks to it over its latest protocol. When OpenRGB restarts, devices come back in a second or two instead of up to 11. A replugged mouse or keyboard lights up straight away, and lighting no longer freezes on some devices until OpenRGB restarts itself. The upgrade also adds lighting support for more MSI, Gigabyte, PNY, ASUS and ASRock devices and Kingston Fury DDR5 memory.

Lighting

  • Breathing settings you changed before this update start from the new defaults.
  • Speed sits right under the colour wheel on every effect.
  • When the colour wheel narrows to one colour, its handle is filled with that colour instead of hiding it.
  • In the LED map, the zone tools sit beside the Devices header, LED dots are grey, and a box selection keeps going when you drag past the edge.

Devices

  • Lian Li HydroShift II wireless AIOs on the L-Wireless dongle: pump speed in Cooling (locked by default, like every pump), coolant temperature as a sensor, and lighting for the pump head and the fans wired to it. While Nexus drives the pump, the AIO's screen shows your CPU and GPU temperatures.
  • Tryx screens can show GIFs from the built-in GIF search. An upload stays on screen until it finishes, the new media is selected right away, and the preview plays it. Presets now sit below your own media.
  • After you turn on Nexus Control, a device page shows Detecting device... until the device is found, instead of a "not connected" message.

Panels

  • A new Immersive background switch: turn it off to see your panel background through fullscreen views. The Backdrop setting is now called Rendering.
  • Fullscreen views keep text and controls clear of the screen edge. Touch panels show a one-time hint for closing them with a swipe down, and the swipe works from more places, including the media visualizer and a finger sliding in from above the screen.
  • On touch panels, a swipe up from the bottom bezel opens the actions tray every time.
  • Adaptive text colour now also covers split-flap tiles and LED and dot-matrix digits, so they stay readable on any background.
  • Media widget: a Show volume slider switch, and a Show output label switch (off by default) that names what the slider controls. At 4x2 the playback controls are centred.
  • Media visualizer: tap its left or right side to switch effect.
  • The Timer widget rings when the countdown ends, and its time blinks until you press Reset. The alarm is on by default with the Beeper sound for 30 seconds. In its settings you can turn the sound off, pick one of ten sounds (each plays when you pick it) and ring for 5, 10, 30 or 60 seconds.

Account

  • My Systems lists the system you are on first, marked This System, with a Sync to account switch. Turn it off to take this system off your account.
  • The sign-in dialog has one title and a single line of text.

Also in this release

  • Support bundles include live fan readings.

Fixes

  • Installing an update could sign you out of your account.
  • Videos uploaded to a Tryx screen disappeared once Kanali started.
  • A Lian Li HydroShift II showed four extra wireless fan ports in Cooling, and fan settings on them could reach the pump.
  • Some RGB devices stayed dark after another device was added or removed.
  • Lighting settings for some devices, such as an NVIDIA Founders Edition card, could move to another device when RGB devices were added or removed.
  • A near-black accent colour picked up from the desktop disappeared in dark theme, and a grey accent turned sliders and icons red.
  • A tooltip could stay open on top of a dialog.

v3.0.21-beta.1 Prerelease

Highlights

  • Third-party devices wait for their own app. A Corsair, Lian Li or NZXT device you turn on in Nexus now waits while iCUE, L-Connect or NZXT CAM is running, and Nexus takes it over as soon as that app closes. Stream Deck and Tryx devices wait for the Elgato app and Kanali the same way. Corsair and Lian Li hubs are never turned on for you, and on a fresh install these devices start with Nexus Control off and their apps left running.
  • Recover a HYTE device stuck in update mode. If a firmware update is cut short, a cooler such as the HYTE Q60 can stay in update mode with its fans at full speed. Nexus now spots this, shows a banner on the Cooling page and in Firmware Updates, and Recover reinstalls the firmware in about a minute.
  • Panel presets that follow your apps. Every panel's page has a presets menu: save the layout, theme, background and widget styling as up to 10 named presets, and use Trigger with apps to load one while a game or app is in focus, like lighting presets.
  • Widget text that reads on any background. Panels have a new Text color setting. Adaptive, the new default, gives each widget white or black text depending on what is behind it, so text stays readable over bright photos, videos and effects. Theme keeps the previous look, and Custom paints all widget text one colour.

Devices

  • A device card on the Devices page shows when the app that competes for it is running. Turning Nexus Control on while that app runs asks to end it first, instead of letting both drive the device.
  • Corsair iCUE LINK hubs: Nexus keeps its connection to the hub open between lighting frames and backs off when the hub is busy, instead of reconnecting over and over.
  • A monitor used as a panel and then turned off leaves the Devices list; add it again from Devices > Displays. The Corsair Xeneon Edge keeps its row.

Panels

  • Wallpaper Engine users (Windows): once Wallpaper Engine is running, a HYTE Y70 or a monitor used as a panel switches its Backdrop to Desktop, so the animated wallpaper shows behind the widgets. A Backdrop you already picked is kept, and a Y70 in Compatibility mode keeps the wallpaper.
  • Marketplace apps such as Aquarium fill the whole round screen of coolers like the NZXT Kraken instead of a smaller square inside it.
  • Marketplace apps such as Aquarium take about half the processing time to animate.
  • When a gallery photo covers the whole screen, the background effect or video behind it pauses on single-widget screens like the Q60 and cooler LCDs.
  • Calculator keys are borderless with larger labels and proper math symbols.
  • The swipe-up hint on touch panels has a longer arrow and a slower motion.

Profiles and account

  • Marketplace app data, such as your Aquarium, now belongs to each profile. A new profile starts fresh, and switching profiles switches the app's data too.
  • Export saves a readable .nexusprofile file that includes app data. Import and restoring from the cloud show which apps' data come along and let you leave it out.
  • Profiles go to your account only when you press Back up now. The button turns into a Backed up check when it lands, every profile shows the new backup time even if nothing in it changed, and a failed backup shows why.
  • Cloud profiles show when each was backed up and which system it came from, and the active profile is highlighted.
  • Your username can be changed once every 30 days, and the message says when you can change it next.
  • Computers are called systems throughout the app; your account lists them under My Systems.

Benchmark

  • A new run screen: one column per part rises to its score as each test finishes, then your Nexus Score counts up.
  • Results show your score on a banner with a Latest/Best picker, and a scrollable history of every run with its date and time.
  • Hardware lists wrap long part names instead of cutting them off.
  • Benchmark tools close with Nexus instead of running on in the background after a crash (Windows).

Updates

  • macOS and Linux install Nexus updates from inside the app, like Windows. This starts with the next update after this one, so this version is still a manual download on those systems.
  • The update badge appears even when an update cannot download in the background, and opens the update window.
  • After Download & install, the update window moves to the new version as soon as Nexus restarts instead of sitting on "Starting...".

Coming from Nexus 2

  • Nexus closes HYTE Nexus 2 every time it starts, since both drive the same devices. Onboarding has an Uninstall HYTE Nexus 2 switch, on by default.
  • Moving from Nexus 2 brings over the HYTE Y70's background (your upload, a downloaded preset or the default particles video), your primary colour as the accent, and widget opacity.

Also in this release

  • An app's Marketplace page shows what's new in the version on offer.
  • Installed Battle.net games are recognised for FPS history (Windows).

Fixes

  • An update that could not be verified left the update window on a progress bar that never moved and could not be closed.
  • Quitting Nexus on macOS with a dashboard open could take 30 seconds.
  • A HYTE device stuck in update mode showed up as an NP50 and a MiniHub.
  • The Diagnostics widget preview in the widget picker showed a GPU throttling warning.

Full Changelog: https://github.com/hello-nexus/nexus/compare/v3.0.20-beta.2...v3.0.21-beta.1

v3.0.20-beta.2 Prerelease

Highlights

  • Widget playlists for single-widget screens. HYTE Q60, NZXT Kraken and other cooler LCD screens can rotate through several widgets. Switch the device's Widgets tab to Playlist, click widgets to turn them on or off, drag to set the order, and choose the interval or shuffle. Arrows under the preview jump to the previous or next widget.
  • Live media backgrounds. Turn on Live background in the media widget to play a music-reactive effect behind it in the colours of the current album art, from 2x2 up to a new 4x4 size. Two new effects, Lava Haze and Lava Ribbons, also appear in Animate on the Lighting page.
  • Animated weather sky. Turn on Animated sky in a weather widget's settings to show the current conditions as a moving sky behind it. Clouds, rain, snow, fog, the sun and the moon follow the live forecast and the location's time of day.
  • Pick what Music Reactive listens to (Windows). Choose the sound output in Settings > Lighting & Cooling or from the Music Reactive button on the Lighting page. Lighting keeps reacting when you change your default output or unplug and replug it.

Dashboard and panels

  • New Auto-arrange switch at the right end of the dashboard toolbar packs your widgets to fit the window and keeps their sizes. It is off by default. The manual dashboard grid is now 16 columns wide.
  • New Blank widget for single-widget screens, so a background GIF shows with nothing in front of it.
  • Deck widget keys are always square. A custom key image opens a cropper instead of being cropped silently, and a transparent image sits on black on Stream Deck keys instead of a grey tile.
  • The Diagnostics widget shows the same four areas as the Diagnostics page: Storage, Memory, Cooling and System. At 4x2, each area opens its own tab.
  • Names under volume, mixer and brightness sliders wrap to two lines instead of being cut off.

Lighting and monitoring

  • A clock icon beside the master brightness slider opens the brightness schedule.
  • FPS readings can be coloured by value, with low frame rates in the warm colours. A new Reverse scale toggle flips the colours on any value-coloured reading.
  • The benchmark's Hardware card shows installed RAM and the peak CPU clock.

Marketplace

  • Each app's page lists its permissions: hardware control, network access, sensors, media and lighting.
  • Nexus checks every app download against the Marketplace's signature and removes an app version the Marketplace has withdrawn.

Also in this release

  • The sign-in dialog has a title bar and a close button.
  • Settings search finds more settings, including Restart onboarding, smart polling, Discord status, conflicting-app options and Account settings.

Fixes

  • Nexus no longer queries unrelated USB devices while looking for its own, which could interrupt some wireless USB headsets.
  • The full-page monitoring view gives each sensor a full-size tile again, so gauges are readable on the Y70.
  • HYTE Keeb TKL: recording a macro or assigning a key no longer fails and wipes the keyboard's key assignments.
  • Dragging a device over a collapsed group on the Lighting or Cooling page no longer crashes the page.
  • Lian Li wireless: animated effects no longer glitch for a moment as the next part of the animation loads.
  • Cooler LCDs such as the Lian Li Galahad II LCD and HydroShift show once on the Devices page instead of twice.
  • Panels set to follow Windows light or dark mode switch even while the Nexus window is closed, and desktop widgets recolour right away.
  • The benchmark's storage result names the Windows drive it actually tested, not the first disk it found.
  • Opening the media visualizer no longer switches it to a different effect.
  • Reloading a Marketplace app's page shows the app instead of an error page.

v3.0.19-beta.1 Prerelease

Highlights

  • The Marketplace is open. Add apps to your dashboard, panels and desktop from the new Marketplace page in the sidebar, starting with Aquarium. Installing apps needs a Nexus account.
  • Nexus accounts. Sign in from the profile menu to install and update your apps and keep your profiles in the cloud.
  • Smoother wireless Lian Li effects. Animated effects on SL V3 wireless fans play smoothly instead of stuttering.
  • Gallery playlists. Give each Gallery widget its own playlist, built on the Gallery page.

Lighting

  • Steadier lighting animations on Windows, and the Lian Li Uni Hub no longer repeats or skips frames.
  • Lian Li SL-Infinity: firmware effects play the effect you picked, single-colour Static and Breathing light every fan, and sweeps travel the right way around the inner ring.
  • Lian Li wireless: built-in animations start reliably, including on long chains and right after Nexus starts.

Panels and widgets

  • New date format setting (Settings > Appearance > Units) for clocks and every date in Nexus.
  • Twitch chat widget: new Clear chat button.
  • macOS: rotate monitor panels like the Xeneon Edge, with auto-rotation and touch that follows. Nexus tells you when macOS needs to grant touch permission.

Conflicting apps (Windows)

  • A notification with an End task button appears when a conflicting app opens.
  • Nexus also closes conflicting apps that open at sign-in. Choose which apps it leaves running in Settings or from a device's conflict card.
  • On new installs, Stream Deck and Tryx devices start with Nexus Control off.

Also in this release

  • Linux: Lian Li wireless dongles are supported, the SL-Infinity hub runs at full speed, and LCD screens use less CPU.

Fixes

  • HYTE Q60: a panel stuck offline after sleep recovers without restarting the PC.
  • Corsair K70 RGB PRO V2: every key lights up, not just the first few.
  • Nexus failing to start on some PCs is now fixed by reinstalling or repairing Nexus.
  • The Y70 panel, tray icon and overlay start after boot on PCs where the user name matches the computer name.
  • Installing or uninstalling Nexus no longer affects other programs that share the Nexus name.
  • Wallpaper Engine no longer counts as a game.
  • Panels without touch no longer show the swipe hint over and over.
  • macOS: turning off touch permission no longer freezes clicks.
  • Tryx Panorama: thumbnails match cropped uploads.

v3.0.18-beta.1 Prerelease

Highlights

  • Updated OpenRGB with new devices. Adds ASRock RX 9070 XT Steel Legend Dark, Gigabyte RTX 5090 XTREME WATERFORCE WB, Gigabyte RTX 4070 SUPER Eagle OC ICE, KFA2 RTX 4080 SG 1-Click OC, Corsair K60 RGB PRO SE, Corsair Sabre RGB Optical, Razer Naga Pro V3 (wired and wireless), the Cooler Master GM34-CWQ monitor and more MSI Mystic Light boards. More versions of the Sapphire RX 9070 XT Nitro+, PNY RTX 5070 Ti Epic-X and Zotac RTX 4070 Ti Trinity are also recognized.
  • Large performance gains.
    • A minimized Nexus window uses almost no CPU (about 6% of a core down to under 1% in our tests) and gives back its memory.
    • Panel screens draw animated backgrounds only as fast as the panel can show them, not at your main monitor's refresh rate.
    • Streamed LCD panels use less CPU, and a memory leak on them is fixed.
    • The Lighting page stays light while effects are running.
    • Nexus opens faster, and the Monitoring page shows data right away.
    • Lower memory use on CPUs with large caches.
  • New monitoring layouts. Wide and large monitoring widgets can show big gauges over a row of small readings ("2 large + 3 small" and "4 large + 3 small"). Bar layouts can show a different device on each row with "Multiple devices", and the full-screen view now shows every monitoring graph on the page at once.
  • Lian Li animations across every fan. Runway, Tide, Mixing and Stack can travel through a whole Uni Hub SL-Infinity with "Merge all ports". Runway and Tide can do the same across a wireless SL V3 chain with "Merge all fans".
  • Static panel backgrounds in Focus mode. A new per-mode option shows a plain background instead of an animated one on panels like the Y70 while a focus mode is on.

Also in this release

  • The benchmark leaderboard lets you browse the whole board instead of only the top 50.
  • Benchmark results go to the leaderboard automatically only when "Help improve Nexus" is on. When it's off, you can upload a run yourself from your history.
  • Nexus reopens in fullscreen if you closed it in fullscreen.

Fixes

  • The widget list on a panel's Widgets tab scrolls instead of cutting off.
  • Tryx Panorama: the media library now lists everything on the panel, including videos and themes added from Tryx's own app, with thumbnails.
  • Widgets keep their state while you drag or edit them: Twitch chat, album art and running timers no longer reset.
  • The tray icon comes back on its own if Nexus's helper stops unexpectedly.
  • macOS: "Open" in the menu bar goes straight to the page you left, without flashing the home page first.
  • Turning off "Remember last page" now clears the saved page.
  • OpenRGB: Corsair K100 lighting is more reliable, the HyperX QuadCast 2 S and Gigabyte RTX 5090 XTREME WATERFORCE layouts are corrected, and Intel GPUs and RGB memory are detected more reliably.
  • Linux: RGB memory and motherboard lighting can work on AM5 boards (setup offers the kernel option they need), the service starts at boot again after an upgrade, panel screens work on X11 desktops, and settings stay in one place.

v3.0.17-beta.1 Prerelease

Highlights

  • Lian Li wireless animations. SL, TL and SL-INF wireless fan chains and Strimer Wireless now play their animation library, with a Lighting tab per chain and an animation picker.
  • Aftershock Glacier Matrix support. The Glacier Matrix cooler LCD is now supported and can also run as an extra Windows monitor.
  • Y70 compatibility mode. A new display setting for Y70 panels that show scrambled or sideways on some graphics cards.
  • Media widget volume. Choose what the volume slider controls: Auto, the playing app, or a specific output device. Microsoft Store apps now show up in the mixer.

Also in this release

  • New rainbow breathing lighting effect.
  • Lian Li device pages gain a Cooling tab.
  • The sidebar remembers when you collapse it and how you order your apps.
  • Refreshed benchmark screens.
  • Frames shows resolutions as 1080p, 1440p and 2160p.
  • Conflicting apps can be managed straight from the warning.

Fixes

  • OpenRGB no longer takes over Lian Li hubs that Nexus drives directly.
  • The Lian Li Galahad II Vision LCD displays as a square screen.
  • "Select all" in Lighting includes devices whose lights are off.
  • The dashboard window opens at the right size on high-DPI monitors.
  • The media tile's progress bar keeps moving between updates.

v3.0.16-beta.1 Prerelease

Highlights

  • Deck Modes. A Stream Deck layout is now a preset that belongs to your PC rather than to one deck, so the same layout drives your hardware and the Deck widget on a panel. Alongside the custom layout you build by hand there are two new modes: Recent Apps turns a deck into a live switcher for the apps you have been using, and App Aware swaps to a different preset the moment a chosen app takes focus. Start a preset from one of ten bundled templates, or share one as a .nexus-deck file.
  • Stream Decks work on macOS. Elgato Stream Deck hardware is supported on Mac, with the same key rendering, app icons, Recent Apps and App Aware you get on Windows. Bundled templates carry Mac key combinations, and Linux gains the focus tracking Recent Apps needs.
  • Your Smart Hub lights up again when Nexus is not running. A hub that had ever connected with Firmware Control off stayed dark whenever Nexus quit, slept or was switched off for it. Every hub now falls back to its own built in animation within about five seconds of Nexus releasing it, with no shutdown required. The separate Firmware Control switch is gone: Nexus Control is the only switch.
  • The NZXT Kraken Elite screen no longer glitches. The band of scrambled pixels that flashed across the bottom of the LCD, most often over busy or animated backgrounds, is fixed.

Stream Deck and Deck widget

  • Presets are host wide and shared: build a layout once and point any deck, any Deck widget, or both at it. A preset automatically fits itself to whatever grid is showing it, paging overflow onto next and previous keys.
  • Recent Apps keeps its layout steady. Switching between two apps already on the deck highlights the one in front instead of reshuffling every key.
  • App icons fill the whole key face on hardware, matching the widget. macOS icons are cropped to their artwork so Mac and Windows icons come out the same size.
  • Recent Apps keys are labelled with the app's Start menu name rather than its process name, and a key you press shows the same pressed inset as a static key.
  • The preset toolbar gained Export and Import, a fit note explaining how a preset was adapted to a smaller or larger deck, and per key read only notes for the automatic navigation keys.
  • Excluded apps can be picked from a list so a launcher or a background tool never takes a Recent Apps slot.
  • Mode, app profiles and the preset toolbar moved to the right column of the Stream Deck page.
  • Keyboard shortcuts can now use punctuation keys such as comma, slash, semicolon and the brackets, which makes the usual preferences chords available.
  • Editing or deleting a preset repaints the physical decks using it straight away instead of leaving stale keys on screen.
  • A deck key tapped on a touch panel no longer stays lit afterwards.

Panels

  • The actions tray is four floating tiles, with theme and background split apart.
  • A touch panel shows a swipe up hand and a one time notice above the tray until you open the tray for the first time.
  • Holding a widget on a touch panel shrinks it slightly before the context menu opens, so it is clear which widget you grabbed.
  • The emoji widget and the processes widget can be placed at 4x2.
  • Panel text is rendered at the size it is actually shown, so scaled panels look sharp instead of soft.
  • The actions tray and editor sheets zoom rather than scale, keeping their contents crisp.

Lighting

  • Turning Nexus Control off for one Smart Hub port now hands the whole hub back to its firmware, which is how the hardware actually works. Previously ports you left controlled kept the hub in software mode and the port you released went black.
  • The Nexus Control toggle on a Smart Hub port card no longer appears to flip every other port card on the page.

Performance

  • LCD panels and Stream Deck keys are encoded with libjpeg-turbo, cutting the CPU cost of a streaming cooler screen to roughly a quarter of what it was.
  • Panel frame buffers are pooled instead of reallocated every frame, which removes the periodic memory collection pauses on high resolution panels.
  • The game capture pump runs on a tighter timer, smoothing frame delivery to the overlay.

macOS

  • Curated displays such as the Corsair Xeneon Edge are promoted to a Nexus panel automatically, the same as on Windows.
  • Touch input on an external touchscreen is routed to the panel it belongs to, so taps, drags, long presses and swipes land where you touch. Grant Input Monitoring to Nexus once and it stays working across sleep and wake.
  • Holding a blank Deck key opens the deck editor instead of dropping you on the dashboard.
  • Shortcut icons are read from the real application bundle, so aliased apps show their own icon.

Fixes

  • Windows: the "Display cable not connected" warning could stay on the Y70 card for a whole session while the panel was working fine. It appeared when you signed in more than a few minutes after the PC powered on.
  • Installing an app while a panel is live now places its widget immediately instead of silently dropping it, and uninstalling one clears its widgets from every panel.
  • A press on a lighting group's name starts a drag.
  • A video background on a panel no longer keeps the host PC awake.
  • The widget context menu fades in on monitor attached panels the way it does elsewhere.
  • Creating a preset no longer leaves it with no page to add keys to, and a preset with a name that is already taken gets a numbered suffix instead of failing.
  • Importing a Stream Deck package is validated more strictly, and a package containing keyboard or launch actions can only be imported from the desktop app.

v3.0.15-beta.2 Prerelease

Highlights

  • Y70 Touch stays detected across reboots. When another display was plugged in but not showing the desktop (a VR headset, a TV switched to another input), Nexus could mistake every monitor for that one after a restart and lose the Y70 panel entirely, touch mapping and the Devices page with it. Each monitor is now identified by the display that is actually driving it.
  • GIF search works. Every 3.0.15-beta.1 install reported "No Klipy app key configured"; the key now ships with the app.
  • Media widget reacts instantly. Track changes, play/pause and artwork update the moment they happen instead of on the next refresh.
  • Uni Fan TL lighting. The Lian Li Uni Fan TL controller's built-in animations are on its device page: mode, zone, brightness, speed, direction and up to four colours.

Panels

  • Dragging a widget into a full column now makes room: the stack shifts in reading order instead of refusing the drop.
  • Right-clicking another widget moves the context menu there instead of closing it.
  • Gradient stops can dock to the panel accent and follow it when the accent changes.
  • The desktop dashboard has its own gauge gradient, saved with your profile.
  • Rectangular monitoring tiles default to the filled line again; the ring stays the default on the round tile.
  • In widget edit panels the selected size, layout, design and icon options wear the solid accent colour.
  • A panel that is rotated or resized no longer rewrites your saved widget order.

Monitoring

  • A second graphics card and the integrated GPU are their own categories in the monitoring widget ("GPU 2", "iGPU"), so their temperatures and loads can be placed on a panel.

Stream Deck

  • The widget editor folds the action list to a one-line summary once a key is bound, so the key's own fields are in view; Change reopens the list.

Fixes

  • Picking an accent colour from the search bar did nothing while the accent source was set to System.
  • The monitoring range toggle uses the same chips as the rest of the settings.

v3.0.15-beta.1 Prerelease

Highlights

  • Brightness schedule. Master brightness follows a time-of-day schedule: a daylight-shaped default that dims through the night, an editor with one point per hour, and a marker on the slider showing where the schedule sits right now.
  • Backgrounds through the cropper. Every panel background import opens the cropper, with a fit switch for letterboxing, several files at once, and animated sources playing while you crop.
  • GIFs from Klipy. Browse or search Klipy and drop a GIF straight onto a panel background or into the lighting media library, cropped to fit.
  • Game Sync captures. The Razer Chroma, Alienware LightFX and Logitech capture shims now ship in the installer, so games that light vendor devices drive your Nexus devices too.

Lighting

  • Simple mode gains an animation row: seven sweep patterns under the colour palette.
  • On Windows, lighting starts within seconds of boot instead of up to half a minute.

Panels

  • Monitoring gauges colour by the reading, with a gradient you draw per panel (up to six stops; drag a stop off the bar to remove it). History charts use the same colours.
  • Mark one widget on a panel's first page as immersive on load; the panel opens straight into it.
  • TRYX Panorama: a slideshow over your custom video library with interval, shuffle and finish-the-video options. It leaves a switched-off screen alone.
  • Lian Li Galahad II LCD brightness applies immediately (community contribution).
  • Panels show a spinner while loading and one shared no-connection state instead of a wrong reading.
  • The Devices page explains what to try when a device is not listed.

Also

  • The Feedback row in Diagnostics & support opens Discord.

Fixes

  • Devices you disabled in Device Manager were listed as hardware problems, and Open Device Manager disappeared when nothing was listed.
  • Onboarding did not replay after a factory reset.
  • Lian Li hubs: a lighting mode change the hub rejected was shown as applied; it now retries.
  • MKV, AVI, WMV and MPG imports showed nothing in the cropper; they now keep the still preview.
  • A transparent PNG fitted with keep-transparency got black bars.
  • A Klipy pick that could not be used blamed the service instead of saying why.

v3.0.14-beta.1 Prerelease

Highlights

  • Background slideshows. A panel background can now be a slideshow: the new Background tab takes a set of images or clips from your gallery, plays them at a shared interval with a crossfade, and lets you drag them into order or shuffle them. Long clips play through before the next slide.
  • One-click conflict resolution. Setup now has a Conflicts step before device selection. "Resolve all conflicts" closes every competing RGB app, turns off its autostart and, if HYTE Nexus 2 is installed, uninstalls it silently. Startup shutdown of conflicting apps is on by default for new installs.
  • Diagnostics you can shape. Any device can be switched out of the health check from its card, NVMe drives sit beside the overview, and one "Export support bundle" button in Settings and Diagnostics collects the logs (installer and update logs included).
  • Strimer Wireless. A bound Lian Li Strimer Wireless shows up as its own mapped lighting device, pre-wired for each cable type.

Lighting

  • OpenRGB is restarted on its own a few seconds after a competing RGB app exits, so devices it held come back without a rescan.
  • Game Sync finds games whose executable is very large or whose plugin DLL sits deep in the install tree, and says why it is idle when a vendor SDK is holding the shim slot.
  • Neon Grid opens in a blue and purple look.

Panels

  • Slideshow settings are shared between the Background tab and the gallery, with shuffle as a toggle in both.
  • Reordering media survives a touch scroll and keyboard delete; shuffle never repeats the slide on screen.
  • Every immersive view renders at the stock widget padding, so text and chrome keep their size when the gaps change.
  • The 4x2 Snake and Blocks tiles lay out beside their icon.
  • Preview cells no longer swallow widget controls until the widget is opened for editing.
  • Each Y70 panel variant is listed by name, including the GW and Ina panels.

Setup

  • Every setup screen scrolls as one block with the navigation and footer always in view.
  • The import step's button is always live: "Continue" with nothing ticked, "Import and continue" with a selection.
  • Conflicts and the Nexus 2 uninstall card sit in one list; the step is skipped when nothing conflicts.

Frames

  • Discover picks a resolution, scrolls as one page, and keeps its cards the same height.
  • Switching chips keeps the table that is already loading; an unreachable server is named as such.

Audio

  • Spatial sound can be switched on for the default output from the mixer's output picker, now tabbed by category.

Diagnostics and support

  • Per-device Monitor switch beside the status badge; the page tabs stay docked while the content scrolls.
  • The support bundle also packs update install logs, and Settings has "Open data folder" plus a /logs search shortcut.
  • The Diagnostics buttons are named after what they do: "Export report" and "Export support bundle".

Also in this release

  • Process widgets remember their sort column.
  • The sidebar's More apps strip stays open through a click.
  • The desktop widget host offers to install the WebView2 runtime when none is found.
  • The software update dialog is wider.
  • Every CNVS model is listed in Supported Devices.

Fixes

  • Simple cooling mode unlocked the GPU, pump and AIO fans when opened.
  • A Q-series panel left with a stale page after an update or reinstall is now rebooted instead of force-stopped.
  • The NP50 firmware animation reply was misread.

v3.0.13-beta.2 Prerelease

Highlights

  • Lock a device to a static color. On the Static tab, lock any device to its own color or pattern from its card menu. It keeps that look through every other mode (Animate, Screen Mirror, Media, Game Sync) until you unlock it, from any tab. A locked card shows a lock beside its light bar; a pick aimed at it flashes the lock and the canvas says why.
  • Nollie controllers. A Nollie device page with per-board standalone lighting (the color or built-in effect the board holds once Nexus lets go), and the two Lian Li Strimer connectors as single ports pre-wired for the ATX and GPU cables.
  • Stack layouts and free rotation. Stacked devices can share their frame as Overlap, Parallel or Series, and any frame can be turned to any angle with a rotate grip.
  • Stream Deck sleeps with the PC. A deck fades to black when the session locks and wakes on a press, per deck, on by default.

Lighting

  • Locking is in the card menu ("Lock static color" / "Unlock static color") and applies to the whole selection; unlock also from the lock beside the light bar. Locks are saved with lighting presets.
  • The Static picker's notices ("No device selected", "This effect fills the whole device", "Static color locked") stay up longer.
  • Every focused frame on the canvas draws its LED dots, stacked frames included.
  • A silent OpenRGB daemon no longer freezes rescans, resume or lighting off; it is restarted instead.
  • Lighting that went dark after a driver install or a driver crash comes back on its own once the card is there again.

Devices

  • Nollie boards appear as one device entry with a Nollie mark; a simulated board on the Tools page walks the ports and the device page with nothing plugged in.

Panels

  • Widget padding moves the gaps only; widget text and the touch chrome keep their size. The slider now steps by 25.
  • Weather immersive view fits the Y70 cell at every padding.

Stream Deck

  • "Sleep when PC is locked" toggle in deck settings.

Also

  • Weather widget icon is the cloud-sun mark.

Fixes

  • Transparent PNG and GIF images showed black behind them in the gallery and the widget viewer.
  • Stream Deck brightness changes could land in the middle of a lock fade.

v3.0.13-beta.1 Prerelease

Highlights

  • ARGB port chains. Pick what is daisy-chained on a motherboard header, Smart Hub, MiniHub, Nollie or Kraken port from a built-in catalog; each product gets its own card and LED map.
  • Weather page. Saved places, 24-hour and 10-day forecasts, air quality, UV, wind, sunrise/sunset, and an immersive panel view.
  • Videos in the gallery. MP4, WebM and MOV clips play in the slideshow.
  • Coolers self-regulate. Q60, Q80 and NP50 return to their firmware curve whenever Nexus stops driving them.

Lighting

  • LED map editor redesign: chain beside the canvas, drag to reorder, snap to grid, edits stage until Save.
  • Stack devices onto one canvas frame; groups nest two deep; "Select N devices" on every group.
  • Neon Grid Spread slider. Hide-uncontrolled is now per page. Names allow 40 characters.

Cooling

  • GPU fans grouped per card; the motherboard fan block can be renamed.
  • MiniHub cards show a steady RPM or "no RPM", never junk values.

Panels

  • Plasma is the default background.
  • Q60/Q80: the page says why a panel is unreachable and offers Repair; no more waking behind the lock screen; the Screen switch and Danger Zone always work.

Windows

  • The installer adds the WebView2 runtime when missing.
  • A switch turns Windows Dynamic Lighting off from Manage conflicting applications.

Also

  • "HYTE" on every HYTE device name; new SmartHub and memory icons.
  • Sidebar recents last for the window session (cap 2). Frames is in the Add app drawer.
  • Lian Li Uni Fan SL v1 hubs are driven natively (not yet verified on hardware).

Fixes

  • Cooling reset left fans on Manual with no preset curves.
  • FPS sessions on iGPU + discrete PCs uploaded under a joined GPU name.
  • Calendar 2x4 overflowed on the Q60. Colour-picker tile lit with nothing picked.
  • New canvas frames were wide strips; the marquee vanished over lit LEDs.
  • macOS/Linux: a logging deadlock could hang a profile reset. Gauge tracks were too faint.
