Supported Lighting Devices
Nexus supports lighting hardware in two tiers:
- First-party drivers, written and maintained by the Nexus team for specific gear: HYTE panels and cooling, alongside hardware from other manufacturers such as RGB fan and lighting hubs, AIO coolers with screens, keyboards, mice, and macro key decks.
- Broad third-party coverage through a bundled headless build of the open source OpenRGB project, spanning motherboards, RAM, GPUs, and a long tail of controllers, strips, and peripherals.
Both tiers behave the same in the app: the device shows up in the Lighting section and the same effects drive it. See the Lighting Overview for how detection works.
Checking your hardware
Two ways, depending on whether Nexus is installed yet:
- In the app: open the Devices section and click Supported Devices. The list covers the full catalog, is searchable by brand or model, and highlights the devices currently detected as connected to your system - the fastest possible answer for hardware you already own.
- On the web: browse the searchable catalog on the devices page, which mirrors the in-app list.
If a device shows up but Nexus cannot control it, see Device Not Detected and Other RGB & Fan Software.
Note
If your device is not supported yet, ask on Discord - hardware support is where most of the work goes, and requests there are what drives the queue.
