Panel Appearance

Each panel's look is themed per device. The controls live on the panel's device page under the Theme tab (open the panel under Devices in the dashboard sidebar), and on touch surfaces you can reach the same controls on the panel itself: swipe up to open the tray, then tap Settings.

1. Widgets

  • Widget labels - show or hide the name captions on widgets.
  • Widget opacity - the transparency of the widget tiles, 0 to 100 percent.
  • Widget padding - the spacing inside and between widgets; the whole grid breathes with it.

2. Theme and accent

  • Theme - keep Sync with desktop on to follow the desktop app's theme, or turn it off and pick dark or light for this panel alone.
  • Accent Color - likewise Sync with desktop, or pick a per-panel accent from the presets or a custom color.

3. Background

The Background section stacks several layers:

  • Backdrop - offered on panels that are displays of the PC itself, the HYTE Y70 and promoted monitor panels. It picks what renders behind the widgets: Theme (the panel's own background, set below), Wallpaper (redraws your desktop wallpaper behind the widgets - the picture only, without desktop icons or windows), or Desktop (the live desktop shows through, animated wallpapers included). Other panels always use their own theme background. The see-through setup is covered in Wallpaper Engine.
  • Frosted glass - a 0 to 100 percent blur over the background layer, to improve clarity on busy backdrops. It is available whenever the panel paints a background of its own: a theme background other than a plain solid color, or the redrawn wallpaper.
  • Background Opacity - how strongly the background layer covers the theme's base backdrop. It applies under Theme and Wallpaper; a see-through panel has nothing to dim.
  • Background mode, under the Theme backdrop, picks what fills the panel:
    • Solid - a flat color, with presets per theme.
    • Animations - a live shader effect; pick the effect and tune its parameters right in the tab, the same editor the lighting effects use.
    • Media - an image or video you upload, cropped to the device. This tab appears for display-backed panels edited over the local network.

4. Panel screenshots

Every panel device page has a Screenshot button in its header. It captures the panel exactly as currently rendered - widgets, background, and effects - and saves it as a PNG image.

Tip

Backgrounds are per device: give the phone a calm solid color and the Y70 an animated shader, and each keeps its own setting.

For arranging the widgets themselves, see Panel Widgets & Layout.
